Announcements, April 2025

Dear wizards,
Some more information and scheduling for the Plague 2025 follows. As last year, we will arrange events for both Old School Magic: the Gathering and Sorcery: Contested Realm.

Friday, October 3rd. The (Black) Plague
Spiralen Café and Restaurant
Limited and constructed events for Sorcery: Contested Realm will be arranged on site from approximately 17:00 and until late. There will be unique and amazing prizes for these events. Please expect a minor admission fee to cover the costs for prizes and memorabilia.
Parallel to the Sorcery event, an Old-School Magic: The Gathering warm-up event will be hosted by Farmstead MTG. There will be no admission charge to this event.

Saturday, October 4th. The Plague
Spiralen Café and Restaurant

Main event; Old School Magic: The Gathering. The tournament starts at 13:00 local time. There will be six rounds of Swiss before Top 8 playoffs. There will be a dinner break after the first three rounds, so approximately around 17:00. The Swiss will consist of sixty minute rounds. Top 8 matches will not be timed, but we encourage efficient game play. After the end of the Swiss rounds there will be a small awards ceremony where prizes will be handed out, as well as raffle prizes.

The tournament will be with Swedish Banned and Restricted policy and Ravenna style reprint policy (reprints with the same art and frame is allowed. No foils, gold-bordered, M30 or proxy cards of any sort. IE/CE cards will be allowed). In 2025, Plague Rats will be unrestricted. A special item will be awarded to the most successful deck featuring the plague-spreading vermin.

All players will need to upload a picture of their deck before the event begins in order to attend. If you cannot submit a picture in time due to reasons (trading for your last card, etc), please let us know in advance so we don't have delays.

Please take note that the main event has a maximum capacity of 64 players. We have discussed increasing the amount of players this year, but decided to keep the player cap to limit the crowd size and ensure the best possible experience for everyone attending. If you plan on attending the event, please sign up as soon as possible, as spots are filling up fast. There will be a waiting list, so make sure to pay the admission fee early to guarantee your spot at the event. Players who have not paid their admission fee by mid-September will be contacted to confirm their attendance. If they cannot be reached and/or are unable to attend, they will be removed from the event in order to include players from the waiting list.

Every player will receive a selection of memorabilia and raffle tickets for special prizes throughout the event.

Vendors
As before, our dear friends and vendors Mitja and Alban of Skyguild will be present all weekend, and bring a selection of cards for purchase and trade, both Magic and Sorcery: Contested Realm.

Special guest
We will have a special guest this year, to be revealed soon. Stay tuned!
