Thank You for The Plague V

The Plague V has come and gone — and what a weekend it was.

First of all, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who travelled to Drammen to play, watch, trade, laugh, donate, sign cards, shuffle badly, topdeck perfectly, and generally help keep Old School very much alive.

Or rather:

Old School is not dead. It is undead.

Infectious mood at the Plague V

A very special thank you goes to Bryon Wackwitz, our featured artist for the weekend. Having Bryon with us — signing cards, sketching, talking art, Magic, Sorcery, and old cardboard — was a true highlight of the event.

We also want to thank everyone who donated prizes to this year’s charity raffle. Thanks to your generosity, and to everyone who bought tickets, we raised over 10,000 NOK for Sykehusklovnene, the Hospital Clowns. That is something we are genuinely proud of.

Congratulations as well to the lucky winners of the n00bcon and Raging Bull Series invitations, along with all the other raffle prizes and goodies that found new homes during the weekend.

And of course: congratulations to this year’s champion, Paw Borup, who took down the tournament on UR Atog. After seeing Danish players reach the finals at The Plague year after year, Denmark finally gets to bring the trophy home. It was about time. Well played!

We will post deck pics and more coverage on the website soon, so keep an eye out.

Thank you again to all players, guests, donors, helpers, and friends of The Plague. You made this year’s event something special. We hope to see you all again next year.

Until then: shuffle well, keep the old cards close, and beware the next outbreak.
